Description
The seminal track from Broadcaster’s remarkable debut album, 'Primary Transmission', remixed by one of Berlin’s coolest DJ remixers and one of the UK’s up and coming names.
‘England’ is a former Radio 1 record of the week. Here it’s been given the remix treatment by two prominent DJs, including one of Berlin’s best known remixers. Oliver $ has worked on tracks by artists such as Hijack, Jjak Hogan, Filthy Dukes, SWAG and Armand Van Helden. Here he gives the folk/acoustic Broadcaster track a House/Dub make-over, which brings even more suprises to a track that was already full of them.
‘England’ takes samples from the original Radio Ballads Series by Ewan MacColl, Charles Parker and Peggy Seeger, and sets them to beats. When they were originally recorded in the 1960s, House/Dub was still a very long way off. That gap has now closed, with unexpected yet very exciting results.
Tracks; 1. ENGLAND – RADIO EDIT / 2 ENGLAND – OLIVER $ MIX / 3. GUNN CLUB MIX
