Description
French saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Sylvain Rifflet is aunique musician on the European jazz scene. Building an unlikely bridge between his hero Stan Getz and the minimalist influences of Philip Glass and Steve Reich, his music is always daring, conceptual, and entirely rewarding.
For this new sax-synths-drums trio album,Rifflet joins forces with two indie pop figures trained in jazz, Bettina Kee (Ornette) and Vincent Taeger (Tiger Tigre, Le Sacre du Tympan). The phantasy landscapes of the synths amplify the hypnotic swirling sounds of the saxophone and clarinet, set against the drums and percussion of Vincent Taeger's incredible grooves. Jazz with pop energy for the body and the mind!
Sylvain Riffletgraduated from the Conservatoire de Paris. The winner of several prestigious awards, including Victoire du Jazz and a Django d'or,He has performed or recorded with many musicians, including some of the most famous performers on the European scene - Henri Texier, Paolo Fresu, Louis Sclavis, Aldo Romano, Michel Portal, Kenny Wheeler, and Riccardo Del Fra, but also alongside American musicians such as saxophonist Jon Irabagon, and drummers Joey Baron, Jon Hollenbeck and Jim Black.
