Description
Two classic albums by American flutist Jeremy Steig and bassist Eddie Gomez on one set. Part of the Art of Groove's series "Collectors Premium Jazz". The albums have been digitally remastered and it includes bonus tracks and new liner notes.
Both albums were originally released on the German label CMP. 1979's 'Music for Flute & Double Bass' is a duet recording with Steig using an arrang of flutes and effects, whilst Gomez plays a number of historic basses.
'Rain Forest' was released the following year, this time with a group that includes pianist Mike Nock, percussionists Ray Barretto and Naná Vasconcelos and drummers Jack DeJohnette and Steve Gadd, who perform a selection of original compositions by the leaders.
