Pianist John Horler is one of the busiest musicians on the British jazz scene, accompanying a host of jazz legends. He has worked with a positive galaxy of American and British stars such as Mel Torme, Art Farmer, Shorty Rogers, Clark Terry, Chet Baker, Zoot Sims, Kenny Wheeler, Peter King and Tommy Whittle. More recently he has been involved in a regular relationship with John Dankworth and Cleo Laine.
'Stablemates' is a duo recording with the spotlight is on just Horler and the multi-talented jazz instrumentalist Alan Barnes. With a well-chosen selection of jazz standards, Horler shows that he is undoubtedly one of today's most stylish pianists with a deep insight into his craft.
