This reissue represents Wes Montgomery's first album in the form of a trio from 1959, with Paul Parker on drums and Mel Rhyne on organ. Billed as The Wes Montgomery Trio - A Dynamic New Sound, the session was produced by Orrin Keepnews and released on his Riverside Records label.
Wes Montgomery (1925-1968) is, universally, recognized as one of the greatest guitarists in jazz history. His fluid and musical use of octaves became one of his trademarks and the inspiration of many other guitarists, including Pat Metheny who sights Montgomery as a major influence on his own playing.
