Description
Award-winning musical comedian Richard Morton has created music to accompany the follow-ups to famous films from the 60s and 70s that never had real sequels. The list of movies includes The Italian Job, Get Carter, Blow-Up, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Graduate and Midnight Cowboy.
The album is dedicated to imagined sequels, prequels and spin-offs of some iconic 1960s and 1970s films, a TV show (Mr. Benn) plus a movie of a book that never was. In true cinema tradition there's an opening and closing theme for each full-length feature film and the booklet contains a synopsis of the fantasy film with an imaginary cast list.
Rich Morton was a founder member of The Comedy Store's long-running show, 'The Cutting Edge'. He was a regular national tour support act for Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Eddie Izzard, Phil Jupitus and Jo Brand as well as selling out his own shows at major international festivals such as Edinburgh and Montreal. In 2012 he made a documentary for BBC Radio 4, 'In the Lounge with Rich Morton' dedicated to the latest trends for easy listening lounge music.
The Rich Morton Sound released their critically acclaimed concept album, 'The Theme That Never Was' in 2010. It was described as "A real gem" by GQ magazine, "A triumph" by Shindig and "Astonishing" by Uncut.
