Description
The Mayan Factor: It's the transfer of energy. Music creates change and taps into emotions. The energy connects with the listener in a special way and the listener sends their energy back to The Mayan Factor. This is how the circle works. Once you hear the music and the hairs on your arms and the back of your neck stand up, you get chills, now you are part of the Mayan Factor: we are all one. Something dark, something scary but full of light and hope, it leaves the listener breathless and forever connected.
The Mayan Factor formed in 2003. A mix of Baltimore's best talent with a then unknown singer, Ray Schuler. The music was channeled from within and overflowing with emotion.
Their music is rooted in progressive rock, influenced by bands like Tool, Radiohead, but also by songs that tell stories, like those of Pink Floyd.
3 albums and a decade of work, with a lot of searching and finding in between, The Mayan Factor are ready for Europe and their next chapter.
The band has gone through many changes, but the commitment to the music has remained the same and the core members continue to play, write new music and keep the energy flowing.
"Huracane" is an album that unites the band's entire musical journey, also encompassing elements of previous works. The new album includes both songs already published and others never officially released. Each track has been selected to usher in a new chapter for The Mayan Factor.
The story is full of contrasting emotions, ranging from feelings of despondency and darkness to moments of light, love and renewal. The band's personal narrative intertwines with the listener's perception, transporting him on a sonic journey through various moods of the group, from the darkest to the brightest and most full of hope.
