The Mahones have reached the top of the Celtic Punk genre alongside friends and tour–mates Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly and The Pogues, evidenced by winning Best Punk Album in 2011 for their last album 'The Black Irish' at the Independent Music Awards - from judges Keith Richards, Tori Amos and Tom Waits - and being featured in blockbuster movie 'The Fighter', Irvine "Trainspotting" Welsh's 'Ecstasy', and headlining punk festivals across Europe.
The band's Celtic brand of infectious, raucous punk music combines the raw energy of iconic bands like The Clash,The Pogues, The Dubliners, The Replacements and The Waterboys and throws in a dash of Social Distortion for good measure.
