Description
Northern Irish death/doom band The Crawling return with What We Leave Behind, a two-track EP examining nostalgia, regret and the damage caused by living in the past.
Built around the central idea that "Nostalgia is not a memory; it is a malignancy," the release explores the point where reflection becomes fixation and the past begins to consume the present.
Opening track "A Song to Nurse the Sickness" examines the deliberate preservation of old wounds and the compulsion to keep them alive rather than accept their finality.
"Bound to the Negative [Requiem]" is a complete acoustic reconstruction of the track originally released on All of This for Nothing. Its form has been entirely reshaped, while its meaning and outcome remain unchanged, reflecting the way memory repeatedly reworks the past without altering what actually happened.
The EP follows the band's 2023 studio album All of This for Nothing and 2026 live release Live in Belfast MMXXIV. The Crawling have toured with Carcass, Winterfylleth, Gaerea, High Parasite, and have appeared at Bloodstock Open Air, Inferno Metal Festival, Incineration Festival, MetalDays, Siege of Limerick and other major European metal events.
The release is supported by a full Imperative PR campaign, official video content and UK and Irish live dates through late 2026 with European tour planned for 2027.
