  • Description

Susanne Sundfor's Revelations of Divine Love, is a work born of spiritual curiosity, creative kinship, and a deep fascination with the ancient and the transcendent. Written in collaboration with British jazz pianist and organist Kit Downes, the album was recorded in the hushed, reverberant atmosphere of Bragernes Kirke in Norway in November 2024 - a setting that lends the record an intimate, almost sacred stillness. The album was mixed and mastered by Jorgen Traeen.

The album takes its title from the landmark 14th-century mystical text by Julian of Norwich - the first book known to have been written in English by a woman. Sundfor encountered Julian's writing around the same time she and Downes were performing together in churches in 2024, and the timing felt fated. Drawn to the text's extraordinary themes of hope, resilience, and its quietly radical feminine perspective, she found in Julian's words a natural spiritual and artistic continuation from her acclaimed 2023 album Blomi. The connection felt so immediate and profound that she invited Downes to join her as a full collaborator on the project.

Available on red & black marbled vinyl with lyric booklet and CD editions.
