Description
Born in Northern Ireland, Ronnie Carroll was first a singer and entertainer before then moving into politics in later life.
Here Jasmine have compiled 25 excellent tracks covering singles including his hit "Walk Hand In Hand" and his album "Lucky Thirteen" (named after the number of tracks that appear on it and perhaps his ever growing gambling addiction at that time) which appears in its entirety.
Amongst the collection are covers of Jackie Wilson's "To Be Loved", The Five Keys' "Wisdom of a Fool", Marv Johnson's "You've Got to Move Two Mountains", Sam Cooke's "Chain Gang" and more all produced by the great Johnny Franz.
Ronnie Carroll was the only performer to represent the UK on two consecutive years in the Eurovision Song Contest and his 1962 entry "Ring-A-Ding Girl" which came 4th (pretty good by today's standards) is here for your listening pleasure. -
