Description
This re-mastered reissue comes complete with a bonus track: "Heriot Row". The Nick Pynn tune is performed on mandocello and electric bass. The original tracks are a mix of live recordings and some rather unusual sessions that took place in the 11th century Benedictine Priory in Wilmington, Sussex, Richard’s old home. “The priory lies at the feet of the mysterious Long Man of Wilmington, as described in the curious sleeve notes, so this album has a particularly special place in the LongMan Records catalogue,” says Richard.
To complete the package, the CD comes with Michael Munday's rejigged sleeve, extensive sleeve notes, a warmer, crisper sound and (of course) the musical contribution of Tom Arnold, Nick and Richard’s long time friend and collaborator. It was shortly after the original release of this album that Tom joined the band and "Nick & Dick" became "Nick, Dick & Tom". The trio then set off on their infamous tour – which lasted several years.
Tracks: Growling At The Badger / Bob Wills' Stomp, Katy Did, The Arkansas Traveller / After Breakfast 10am-Vienna / The Three Priors Of Windover / Grestain /The Horse's Lunch Packet, The Chicken In The Woolly Hat, Evelyn's / The Glories of Spring, Temperance Reel / Cooking The Cajun / Limerock Medley / My Lagan Love / Bavarian Stomp / The Rushes. Bonus track: Heriot Row.
