Description
The two concertos included in this CD are a perfect illustration of what, beyond perfect mastery, has always animated the composer.
The Concerto in F Major K 242 is a work of great elegance and overflowing tenderness, which already carries within it the Mozartian genius, under the guise of a divertimento. His Concerto No. 10 in E flat major for 2 pianos, K 365 establishes new levels of relationship between soloists full of repartee, surprises, contradictions, twists and turns. He gains ideal spheres through music where no one could reach him.
To conclude the CD, Miroslav Popovic paraphrases the Overture to The Magic Flute and ingeniously offers cadenzas to the soloists, the first of which responds to the initial chords, those symbolizing the columns of the Freemasons' Temple, while the middle cadenza invites to a very personal meditation.
