Description
During the war years the foundation of R&B was set, the Big Bands were stripped down to horn combos driven by a jumping rhythm section tailor made for dancing. While Wynonie Harris popularised this style with his shouters role these two singers followedin his footsteps. This collection gives ample evidence to the fact that Brown and Mack gave lasting contributions to the growth of R&B in its formative years.
