Description
Norwegian artist and multi-instrumentalist Ole Borud will release his long-awaited sixth solo album, Sleepwalking Again - an elegant and well-aged blend of West Coast pop, jazz, soul, and rock. With clear musical references to icons such as Steely Dan, Pages, Toto, and Chicago, Borud once again proves why he is considered one of Norway's most sophisticated songwriters and producers. The album is produced, arranged, and mixed by Ole Borud himself, and was recorded at several locations in Norway. He is joined by a strong team of musicians: Ruben Dalen (drums), Lars Erik Dahle (bass), Johannes Groth and Jens Andreas Kleiven (keys), Magnus Bakken (saxophone), Jens Petter Antonsen (trumpet/trombone), and Borud himself on vocals, guitar, percussion, and additional keys. One of the album's highlights is a fusion-inspired instrumental - a new direction for Borud - featuring stellar solos by Magnus Bakken (saxophone) and Jens Andreas Kleiven (Rhodes). "With Sleepwalking Again, I wanted to dive deeper into the sophisticated soundscape that inspired me early on - complex chords, tight arrangements, and open landscapes with room for both groove and melodic finesse," says Ole Borud.
