Previously performing as his alter-ego The Vessel of David Devant and his Spirit Wife, Mikey Georgeson is an artist actor, dancer, singer and channel for a string of eloquently worded and intelligently observed songs. With a passionate underground following it seems strange that Mikey G didn't "go Solo" sooner.
Not to be underestimated, David Devant have a loyal fanbase in the UK and his Mr. Solo shows evidence of continued interest with over 6,500 plays for the single "Number One" and 13,000 plays for the track "Kiss It Better" on myspace.
The same site also makes comparisons with Donovan and Kevin Ayers (albeit with analogue synths rather than guitars) and there is a certain wilful Englishness that adds to the charm of this record.
