  • Description

    M. John Henry is the solo guise of Martin John Henry, frontman of the much loved and missed Scottish band, De Rosa. De Rosa released a slew of cult albums on the Chemikal Underground and Rock Action labels before splitting in 2021. Henry returns in 2025 with 'Strange Is The Way' - a new solo album of mysterious and intimate songs set to a distinctly Scottish approach to folk rock and slowcore. "In recent years I've made a lot of diverse music in collaboration with others. With this record I wanted to go it alone and make something simple that embraced the classic folk and rock LPs I grew up with while remaining informal and honest to my voice and playing. The words have all sorts going on, from domestic observation to imaginings of being taken to the Land of Fae. I played and recorded the album then it was mixed by Glasgow guitarist Robert Dallas Gray (ex-Life Without Buildings)." - M. John Henry.
