Re-release of the cult album from 1991 - the original album was only the second release on Osmose Productions. This special edition includes the original recording from 1991, but also a complete re-recording, mixing, and mastering, showcasing how it should have sounded! Masacre (from Colombia) could have been a huge band if Reqviem had sounded as it does now - be prepared, because after 32 years, the sound recording is just magick and reflects who Masacre really are! Alex Okendo says "When I first went into the studio for the Reqviem album I was about 20 years old living in Medellin city in the 80s; by that time, a place full of hate with this bitter taste in the air - poverty,drug cartels, dirty money and corrupt government - a reflection of what Death would leave behind - it's continuous presence in the streets and neighbourhoods of the city. Since then a tremendous passion for Metal Music has been living inside me. BullMetal and I were making our dream come true. Without knowing it we were creating one of the most iconic metal albums, not only here in Colombia but in South America and Worldwide as well. Difficult times, difficult days. We were forced to think differently, hate a whole system, religion, morality, politics and society.
