Description
Luciano Biondinin (born 1971) studied classical accordion since he was 10 years old, and received many international prizes like the Premio Internationale di Castelfidardo, Premio Luciano Fancelli.
When he realised that the accordion is a rare instrument in classical music he turned towards oud master and composer Rabih Abou-Khalil. He plays with his ensemble now for 20 Years. In 1994 he also turned towards jazz music and appeared at many jazz festivals. Artists he worked with are Dave Bargeron, Tony Scott, Lucas Niggli, Enrico Rava, Roberto Ottaviano, Javier Girotto. He did several intense CDs in duet with Italian pianist Rita Marcotulli. He also did a much-applauded concert tour in Korea with composer/pianist Myriam Alter. ENJA released a beautiful solo album with Luciano (Prima del Cuore, ENJ9509) and an intense duo record with Javier Girotto soprano, baritone saxophone and flute (Terra Madre, ENJ9463).
The trio 'Dialogues' with the Italian artists Mirko Mariotti (clarinet and bass clarinet and Stefano Maurizi piano develops Luciano's music to a kind of soft emotional avantgarde.
