Description
After six years' virtually unbroken record success, by the early 60s Lonnie Donegan was finding hit records increasingly harder to come by. During 1962 he released five singles, three of which - 'The Comancheros', 'The Party's Over' and 'Pick A Bale Of Cotton' - made the UK charts, although his original version of 'I'll Never Fall In Love Again' and 'Tit-Bits', his celebrated duet with Max Miller, inexplicably failed to register.
He also released his most ambitious LP to date, "Sing Hallelujah", a collection of Spirituals and Gospel songs.
To these twenty-two sides we've added a half-dozen collectors' rarities, which are notoriously hard to find on CD, to complete a unique compilation.
The collectors' rarities include the U.S. recording of 'The Wreck Of The John B' and 'Ace In The Hole', recorded with the Clyde Valley Stompers.
