On the LP, Side A contains Suzhou, four tracks with Blixa Bargeld; Side B, Its All The Rage, offers four tracks with Black Cracker. CD "Suzhou / Its All The Rage" is the third album by Swiss avant-garde project KiKu together with underground legend Blixa Bargeld and Berlin-based rapper and singer Black Cracker. The title makes it clear: "Suzhou / Its All The Rage" is conceived this time as a diptych - two independent halves held together by a shared musical architecture built from trumpet, drums, sampler and electronics. On the CD, the work appears as a continuous album with eight tracks. On "Suzhou", Bargelds vocals across four pieces shaped by space, tension and control move between speaking, singing, whispering and abstract vocal gestures. On "Its All The Rage", Black Cracker pursues a more percussive, volatile and immediate approach in the remaining four pieces. KiKus music combines evocative analog and electronic sound worlds at the outer fringes of jazz, avant-garde, ambient and electro, which, together with the distinctive voices of Bargeld and Black Cracker, promise a real adventure somewhere between spoken word, literary art and musical experimentation.
