Name-checked in the Timothee Chalamet film A Complete Unknown as well as by Bob Dylan himself in the Martin Scorsese-directed film Rolling Thunder Revue, Jim Kweskin was a key figure in the 1960s folk revival. He performed with his Jim Kweskin Jug Band on bills with Janis Joplin and the Doors and at Newport Folk Festival, directly inspiring the formation of the Grateful Dead. Hot on the heels of a 2025 long-form NPR interview, this new album finds Kweskin recording some of his most beloved concert material, including songs made famous by Jelly Roll Morton, Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Glenn Miller with his signature wit and blend of folk, western swing, and early jazz. The album features five-time GRAMMY Award-winning pedal steel player Cindy Cashdollar and was co-produced by bassist Matthew Berlin (Howard "Louie Blue" Armstrong).
