Description
Music soundtracks from the core of "Nouvelle Vague" cinema - 20 tracks pressed on 180g vinyl - limited edition in a gatefold sleeve.
Presented here is Martial Solal's complete original soundtrack to Jean-Luc Godard's legendary 1960 film A Bout de Souffle (premiered in the United States as Breathless).
The movie is about a wandering criminal (Jean-Paul Belmondo) and his American girlfriend (Jean Seberg). It was Godard's first feature length work and represented Belmondo's breakthrough as an actor. The film was one of the earliest, most influential examples of French New Wave (nouvelle vague) cinema.
For this special gatefold edition, A Bout de Souffle is coupled with music composed by Michel Legrand for two other Godard films, Une Femme Est Une Femme (1961) and Vivre Sa Vie (1962). Further selections composed or performed by Legrand have been added as a bonus.
