Description
This is not your ordinary piano solo album. The repertoire on the disc was inspired by Jacqueline Leung's love of BBC Radio 4's legendary programme Desert Island Discs, and the tracks were chosen for their easily recognizable tunes.
In this debut recording, award winning Hong Kong pianist Jacqueline Leung, who has been described as a player who possesses "musicality, intelligence and technical finesse", chose an eclectic mix of 10 pieces ranging from Mozart, Chopin, Bach, Liszt and Saint-Saens to works by lesser known composers such as Bowen and Longas. Designed like a photo album, the CD booklet includes the pianist's personal anecdotes and photographs which inspired the performances of these pieces.
