The "Cornucopia" series of CDs - this is the third - was a project very dear to Humph's heart. He oversaw all the tracks on the album, directing, suggesting and fine tuning the dynamics and solo orders. He always said that the band he had at any particular moment in his life was his favourite, but there's reason to believe that this one really was. He loved it and devoted more of his time to it than to anything else that filled an extraordinarily busy life.
Humph can be heard on two of the tracks and his 'count-ins' on some of the others have been kept. He had very high standards in his recordings, which the band as a collective effort have been determined to maintain. Our thanks must go to Tony Fisher who had the difficult job of completing the tracks on which Humph had not been recorded. We think Humph would have been delighted with his contribution. We all miss Humph, and his Band hope to continue in his tradition, playing his compositions and keeping his music alive. He would have been proud of this album.
