Description
The Fryderyk Chopin Institute has already released four albums of the pianist and conductor Howard Shelley with compositions by Fryderyk Chopin, Franciszek Lessel and Ignacy Feliks Dobrzy 324;ski.
The following album continues the path of interpretation of Polish composers’ music. This time, we will hear Shelley playing the brilliant-style Piano Concerto in E major No. 1 by W 322;adys 322;aw Krogulski, referred to as “Polish Mozart”. On the album, there is also Adagio et rondeau a 768; la polonaise in E flat major Op. 9 for piano with the accompaniment of the orchestra by Franciszek Lessel, which can be seen as a prototype of Chopin’s Andante spianato et Grande Polonaise brillante Op. 22.
The album was recorded in the Witold Lutos 322;awski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio.
