  • Description

Quartet Records presents the premiere vinyl release of the iconic Giovanni Fusco score for IL SESSO DEGLI ANGELI--for the firsttime in full stereo, prepared as it was supposed to be released in 1968 but never was.
Released in 1968 and directed by Ugo Liberatore, IL SESSO DEGLI ANGELI is one of the most intriguing examples of late-1960s Italian cinema,
blending psychological drama, social commentary and the era's emerging fascination with changing moral values. The filmexplores themes of desire, identity and emotional alienation through a sophisticated and often provocative narrative, reflectingthe cultural transformations taking place in Italy during the decade.
Giovanni Fusco composed a score of remarkable elegance and restraint, perfectly suited to the films introspective atmosphere. Best known for his
legendary collaborations with Michelangelo Antonioni, Fusco brings the same refinedsensibility to IL SESSO DEGLI ANGELI, creating music that is both intimate and emotionally resonant. Delicate orchestral textures, sophisticated lounge music, beat rhythm, subtle harmonies and understated melodic ideas combine to evoke the films complex emotional landscape with extraordinary
sensitivity. The album also includes the songs performed by The Sorrows and Roberta Piazzi, the collaboration of I Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni and arrangements by Gianfranco Reverberi.
A fascinating entry in the composer's distinguished filmograph, IL SESSO DEGLI ANGELI stands as a fineexample of Giovanni Fusco's unique ability
to express psychological depth and cinematic sophistication through music. This vinyl has been restored and mastered by Chris Malone from the original elements and pressed on 140-gram black vinyl.
