  • Description

Fred Jordan is thought by many as the iconic English folk singer. Born in 1922 he was recorded by the BBC at the age of thirty, singing songs he had learned from his family, his work mates and visiting Gypsies. He spent his early life working on the land particularly with horses and became known for his working clothes that he always wore on stage. In the 1960's he was welcomed into the emerging folk revival as the one of the few authentic country singers who was willing to travel. His reputation spread and not only did he perform at folk clubs all over the country he was booked at every major festival including Cambridge. The two CD's include recordings made between 1952 and 1991 and they are presented in a deep case with a 64 page biographical booklet.
