After studying at the Conservatorio C. Pollini in Padua, Francesco Galligioni specialized in the baroque cello.
He is one of the founding members of the Venice Baroque Orchestra around Giuliano Carmignola, with whom he has toured and recorded numerous times.
For his recording of Bach's first three cello suites, he uses an anonymous Cremonese instrument from the end of the 17th century
