"My very last is also my very first". It is with this enigma that Emilie Simon presents ES, her new album accompanied by a unique live creation alone on stage.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of her first album, and before the release of her new opus currently being produced between France and the United States, Emilie has prepared a new version of the ladybug album that she has entirely re-produced and rearranged, bringing a different light to the songs while preserving their DNA. A first in the field, as if this album that has become a cult was being revamped while keeping the modernity that made it unique in the early 2000s: "It's a game of mirror, 20 years later. A before and after. The rule was: if I had written these songs today, how would they sound? I allowed myself everything, as long as I kept their essence and the same order as on the original record. I changed the keys, the tempi, the harmonies, the structures, the arrangements and sometimes even the melodies. I felt free and I had a lot of fun. It's also a way for me to go back to my roots, my core, to celebrate it while bringing it radically into my sound today. ES is a link between my past and my future. I renamed this album ES, because it is my newfound essence and also the foundation stone for the projects that will follow it. The circle is closed, it is a new beginning. It is also a desire to find my public with these songs which for some were our first exchange ".
