Description
A chaotic and intense Craig Leon-produced hybrid of Dolls, Stooges and most of the Nuggets bands by Jeff Conolly's pre-Lyres group DMZ. The winter 1976 issue of Who Put The Bomp (Greg Shaw's fanzine) had featured a detailed report on the Boston scene, DMZ was a more predictable proposition than the other featured artists, sporting obvious glam roots and an eccentric but dedicated rock & roll fan in lead singer, Jeff 'Mono Mann' Conolly. Bomp! the label founded and directed by Shaw was a natural choice for them. "Relics" is a compilation of rare recordings from DMZ taken from their 1977 EP and also demos, including versions of the 13th Floor Elevators, The Standells and The Pretty Things. We are happy to reissue this garage 1981 rock's essential gem, originally released in the early days of Bomp!'s sister label Voxx. Our release includes 5 extra tracks and notes by late Jeff Connolly.
