Description
Demian Dorelli, son of an Italian fashion photographer and an English ballet dancer, grew up in an artistic environment. He developed a passion for music and the piano at a young age, influenced by artists like The Specials, Madness, and Herbie Hancock. Alongside his musical pursuits, Demian also explored yoga and became a yoga teacher, teaching in various ashrams around the world. Despite his diverse experiences, Demian's love for music remained constant. Encouraged by his friend Alberto Fabris, a renowned producer, he released his first album as a tribute to Nick Drake. Titled "Pink Moon, A Journey On Piano," it featured piano transcriptions of Drake's folk masterpiece.
In his second album, "My Window," Demian presents nine original compositions for solo piano. Inspired by David Hockney's digital paintings and reflecting his own poetic and melancholic vision of the world, Demian takes listeners on a captivating journey. Collaborating once again with artist Franco Matticchio, each piece is accompanied by unique illustrations. Influenced by a range of artists including Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, Arvo Part, Rachmaninov, and Chopin, Demian has found his own voice and artistic expression.
