Description
Originally from New Orleans, Blues pianist and singer Champion Jack Dupree eventually left his homeland (and wife), preferring the comforts of an English girl and the somewhat less exotic town of Halifax in England's northern county of Yorkshire.
But wherever he laid his head, Dupree was an accomplished entertainer as this professionally recorded 'live' performance shows. Whether he was playing to the crowd with his wit and warm humour, or singing the authentic Blues of his roots, Champion Jack retained the attention and admiration of the audience, on this CD for almost 105 minutes.
Project supervised by Paul Pelletier and annotated by Alan Balfour.
