Leading Brazilian vocalist Celso Fonseca and celebrated composer Ronaldo Bastos revisit and expand their 1997 album 'Paradiso'. Originally mostly guitar, vocals and percussion it now features brand new arrangements with Brazilian stars of bossa nova and MPB - Marcos Valle, Joao Donato, Jaques Morelenbaum and Milton Nascimento - and younger Brazilians like singer Adriana Calcanhotto and Donatinho of the band Paraphernalia.
For a long time Ronaldo Bastos had felt that the original recording still had unfulfilled potential. A long-time colleague and supplier of hits for Tom Jobim, Edu Lobo, Dori Caymmi, Milton Nascimento and Ed Motta, Bastos came into some money and decided to devote it to a revision of the album.
He recruited sound engineers and producers Duda Mello and Leonel Pereda who took the original elements of the 1997 recording and added new vocals, instrumentation, poems in several languages, street recordings and electronic effects. Two brand new tracks include an arrangement of Keats' poem "A Thing of Beauty", with Celso Fonseca on vocals and guitar and Joao Donato on piano and "O Tempo Nao Passou" with vocals by Adriana Calcanhotto.
