Description
Innovative and infectious, Bwani Junction, release their debut 7" single Two Bridges June 11th. The Edinburgh band's unique sound has led to the recent award of Best Breakthrough Act at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards and now nominated for Scottish Album of the Year, they were named by 'The Sun' as part of 'The Class of 2012'.
Two Bridges, is the lead track of skewed indie, sprinkled with Afro-Scottish influences, that's seen them described as a mix between Vampire Weekend, Big Country and Two Door Cinema Club. The b-side comes from the much hyped DIY-beat loving BIGkids – aka Ben Hudson (Mr Hudson) and Rosie Oddie (Rosie Oddie & the Oddsquad).
Writing hometown tales, they mix local characters, political comment and anthemic tunes and source their sound from an array of genres, including an injection of Afro-beat. The four-piece - Rory, Jack, Dan and Fergus - recorded their debut album Fully Cocked at Glasgow's legendary Chem 19 with award winning producer Paul Savage - previously known for his work with Franz Ferdinand, Brakes, Mogwai, Teenage Fanclub.
An addictive, dazzling debut single Bwani Junction are the soundtrack to summer 2012. -
