Description
Bobby Vee was one of the biggest rock & roll stars of the pre-Beatles era. He was a perennial chart presence during the '60s and had several million selling singles. His ebullient voice and energy, coupled with the talented songwriters he worked with, led to a wealth of catchy rock and pop gems that still sound fresh today. This quintessential release includes two of Bobby Vee's finest LPs for Liberty records: his self-titled second album, Bobby Vee (1961), plus the rocking Bobby Vee Meets The Crickets (1962) - one of his collaborations with Buddy Holly's backing band.
Vee's records sparkled with pristine production as exemplified here on fabulous songs like "Rubber Ball", "Devil or Angel", and rock & roll standards such as "Peggy Sue", "Lucille", and "The Girl of My Best Friend", among others. Both masterpieces have been remastered and packaged together in this very special collector's edition, which also contains 7 bonus tracks from the same period, including the great "How Many Tears" and "Suzie Baby" (Bobby's first song written at age of 15).
