Description
BOBBY VEE / I REMEMBER BUDDY HOLLY + MEETS THE VENTURES + 7 Bonus tracks.
Two albums on one CD, Deluxe digipak, vintage memorabilia and updated liner notes.
Bobby Vee was one of the biggest rock & roll stars of the pre-Beatles era. He was a perennial chart presence during the '60s and had several million selling singles. His ebullient voice and energy, coupled with the talented songwriters he worked with, led to a wealth of catchy rock and pop gems that still sound fresh today. This essential release includes two of Bobby Vee's finest LPs for Liberty records: the long unavailable I Remember Buddy Holly, and the equally splendid, Bobby Vee Meets The Ventures. The former LP is a tribute to the great Buddy Holly, which showcases Vee's underrated vocal ability and Snuff Garrett's killer production work, while the latter features a collaboration with the renowned instrumental quartet The Ventures for one of Vee's hardest-rocking albums ever. Both masterpieces have been remastered and packaged together in this very special collector's edition, which also
contains 7 bonus tracks from the same period.
BOBBY VEE, lead vocals and guitar, plus: The Eligibles (backing vocals), Tommy Allsup, Don Wilson (guitar), Red Callender, Nokie Edwards (bass), Gene Garf or Aaron Freeman (keyboards), Mel Taylor (drums), among others. Recorded at United Recording Studios, Hollywood, California. Original recordings produced by Tommy "Snuff" Garrett.
