Beautiful and Wild was written in that fey glimmer of light between dark and dawn, When familiar ghosts watch you sleep and sing softly. Beautiful and Wild was produced by Marco Giovino at Dagotown Recorders in East Nashville. Marco plays drums in Robert Plant's band of Joy. He also plays with Patty Griffin, Rodney Crowell, and Norah Jones. He has played with Amelia and been a fan of her songs and singing for the past seven years. Producing a record for her was a natural progression.

He sums up his feelings, "How Van Gogh used canvas and paint to make his timeless masterpieces, Amelia uses lyric and melody to create songs that will touch and leave a lasting impression on every mood you've ever felt."
The two handpicked a small cast of their favourite players: Most Notably John Jackson (Dylan,), and Doug Lancio (John Hiatt) on guitars, Billy Earheart (Amazing Rhythm Aces) on Keys, and Frank Swart (John Hiatt.) on bass. Marco manned the drums and brought in A.J. Croce to duet with Amelia on Mercy, flanked by the soulful McCrary Sisters. Beautiful and Wild was mixed by Mike Poole (who engineered Band Of Joy) and mastered byAlex McCollough of Yes Master,Nashville. Overall, the album was crafted by a close-knit group of top shelf talent with a lot of love.
