Description
Giovanna Marini, accompanied by the splendid voice of Francesca Breschi, has reworked and recorded twenty-one songs for this "historic" anthology, in which she has collected some of the most well-known pieces of her vast musical catalogue.
"Lamento per la morte di Pasolini" and "I treni per Reggio Calabria", "Ragazzo gentile", "Io vorrei" and many tracks in her innovative style, a precursor to rap, that Marini has been using since the Sixties. The album is completed by the addition of several pieces by well-respected songwriters from the Italian folk music tradition, like Fausto Amodei, Matteo Salvatore and Caterina Bueno.
This is an album that captures the emotions and tells the story of a poetic Italy that is very much alive, "in lungo e in largo" ("all over the country") as the title suggests, through a selection of stories and songs that have gained a sense of urgency, to sing and to be listened to now!
