  • Description

The first part of the comprehensive Wolfsmond retrospective, entitled "Fur mich ist es Rock'n'Roll" (part I)" for the first time, the first two Wolfsmond albums, "Lude Lafayettes Wolfsmond" and "Radio Rock'n'Roll", are also available on CD , both albums have been lovingly remastered and restored for the CD - as a bonus, there are two previously unreleased studio tracks as well as five live recordings from 2013, a detailed booklet featuring rare photos and liner notes by drummer George B Miller, who is also the author of the book "Fur mich ist es Rock'n'Roll" feat former The Rattles members Lude Lafayette and George Meier.

His life was "almost a breath of loneliness", but at times it was also like being an "angel" or "as free as the wind". One thing, however, is certain: "For me, it is (was) rock'n'roll." That, or something along those lines, is how one might sum up the far too short life of the Bremen-based rock poet Jochen Peters, better known as Lude Lafayette. Peters lent his name to the band and their debut album "Lude Lafayette's Wolfsmond" (1977). From their second album, "Radio Rock'n'Roll" (1978) onwards, the band performed simply under the name Wolfsmond. Peters died on April 11, 2003 in Achim, not far from his hometown of Bremen (Germany).

Wolfsmond's albums combine poetic rock'n'roll with the musical influences of American West Coast bands. Their German-language songs tell of love, dreams, travel and freedom - the timeless rock archetypes of the lonely, restless wolf. Many Wolfsmond classics, such as "Wellenreiter" and "Radio Rock'n'Roll", remain part of the repertoire of numerous radio stations to this day. That is why the surviving band members decided to pay tribute to their shared history with a comprehensive retrospective. "Fur mich ist es Rock'n'Roll (part I)" focuses on the years 1977 to 1979 and the two albums "Lude Lafayette's Wolfsmond" and "Radio Rock'n'Roll". At the time, the band was signed to the German Frankfurt-based label Bellaphon. Now, both albums are being released on CD for the first time, lovingly remastered. Drummer Kai Stellmann combed through the internal Wolfsmond archive for photographs and memorabilia. George Boris Haupt, alias George B. Miller, the author of the book "Fur mich ist es Rock'n'Roll", contributed the detailed liner notes. Together with guitarist George Meier, he also came across previously unreleased studio material from that period during his research. Five superb-sounding live recordings round off this extraordinary retrospective, making it a must-have for long-standing fans and anyone wishing to discover Wolfsmond.
