A first-class live recording of the acclaimed performance by British progressive metal band Threshold at the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheatre on 7 June at the Rock Hard Festival 2025 - a fantastic and unique atmosphere at the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheatre in front of an enthusiastic festival crowd, a setlist featuring classics and fan favourites from various periods of the band's career - incl a booklet featuring numerous live photos from the festival performance and liner notes by Richard West, founding member and keyboardist of Threshold - This marks the band's fourth appearance at the renowned Rock Hard Festival - a testament to their special status with the audience from October 2026, Threshold will be on their 25th Anniversary "Hypothecital" tour.
For the British progressive metal band Threshold, the Rock Hard Festival has been a very special stage for many years. When frontman Glynn Morgan took the stage at the festival in 2025 for the first time since his return to the band in 2017, he was thrilled: "When I first stepped onto this stage, it was truly breathtaking - a memory that will stay in my heart forever!"
This marked Threshold's fourth appearance at the long-standing festival held at the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater on the Rhine-Herne Canal. With their unique blend of melodic progressive metal, complex arrangements, and Glynn Morgan's distinctive vocals, the band has earned a special place in fans' hearts over the years. Numerous successful albums, including "Critical Mass," "Subsurface," and "Dead Reckoning," were also named "Album of the Month" by Rock Hard magazine.
"Most of the songs we played were from our last two albums. But we also played tracks from 'Critical Mass,' 'Subsurface,' and 'Dead Reckoning.' I still really enjoy playing 'Mission Profile,' which is now, incredibly, over 20 years old."
The acclaimed festival performance is now being released as a CD/DVD combo featuring extensive photo material and liner notes by keyboardist Richard West.
