Description
The first-ever comprehensive collection of recordings by June Richmond, the Chicago-born singer who found early success with the bands of Jimmy Dorsey, Andy Kirk and Cab Calloway, made films with Louis Jordan, and appeared on Broadway.
But race issues in America made it difficult and she emigrated to Europe in 1948, where she finally became a major star, headlining the Casino de Paris. She made wonderful recordings in France and Sweden up until her untimely death in 1962 at age 47.
In this deluxe two-CD set, are all of her American recordings, as well as numerous selections from her European sides, all digitally restored in superior sound by Jasmine Records.
