BONEY & THE SHAKERS: The charming Rock'n'Roll trio led by Boney Shaker (vocals/stand-up drums) has been playing across Germany and some of Europe since 2017. Puck (double bass) and Maksim (electric guitar) may also be familiar to some from bands like FRANTIC FLINTSTONES, OFFENDERS, JANCEE PORNICK CASINO, or MINESTOMPERS. The band's sound is rooted in Rockabilly, but whenever they come up with something that's fun to play, it always trumps genre conventions. So, they add some Blues, a shot of Country and a snort of Punk attitude to shake up a cocktail that gets hips and walls rocking!

Hearing Boney sing, it is hard to believe she never sang in a band before the SHAKERS and only started drumming while busking with them, in their very early days.

Their debut single "Shake Baby Shake" (the first ever release on Topsy Turvy) was followed by the album "Off the Cuff" on which they proved that they can do up-tempo dancing songs just as well as writing nice ballads giving you goosebumps. In 2024 acoustic guitar player Schorni left the band and Maksim took over the twanging duties. His style and him playing electric (contrary to his predecessor) nudged the band away from their rather folky beginnings towards a hotter sound. And the slightly overdriven guitar on top of Puck's driving bass grooves fits in perfectly with Boney's soulful vocal delivery.

Thus renewed, the band took to the stages again, but most importantly, they've been recording! And none other than Topsy Turvy Records presents the first taste of their new sound! Get ready for their forthcoming single: "Shake It On Down"!

Just as on all their previous recordings everything is cut live in Puck's living room capturing all the energy and spontaneity of the sessions. The A-side "Shake It On Down" is a blistering blues bopper that sets you up perfectly for a wild night out: dancing, shaking and tearing the place to bits. The B-side "Boney Goes to Prison" is an equally powerful rocker about the consequences of reckless driving - and other wrongdoings... Naughty! All in all, the band preserves their identity while accentuating their blues and R&B influences. And at moments even a distant echo of garage rock seems to be audible.
