Description
Considered to be the most gifted and promising pianist of his generation in Poland, pianist Szymon Nehring is the only Pole to have won first prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv (2017). He was also a finalist at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw at only 18 years of age. He has performed with almost all Polish orchestras, and returns regularly to Sinfonia Varsovia, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. Worldwide, he performs with such orchestras the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bamberger Symphoniker, Hamburger Symphoniker and the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century. This new recording opens with Szymon performing Souvenir de Paganini along with Chopin's Etudes, the Scherzo in E major, the youthful Variations in E major and 'Wiosna' [The spring], the only Chopin song that exists also in a purely piano version. The Bolero, written during Chopin's first seasons in Paris is also featured and the Rondo a la Mazur brings this disc to a close, sounding here like a cheerful encore.
