Description
Following his internationally acclaimed CDs of rare works by Samuil Feinberg, Viktor Ullmann and Hans Winterberg, among them several world premiere recordings, pianist and composer Christophe Sirodeau now turns to Johannes Brahms, and presents here a selection of 14 Intermezzi, a journey both poetic and mesmerizing.
Christophe Sirodeau (born 1970 in Paris) is a French pianist and composer. As a pianist, he studied with Yevgeny Malinin (from 1982 to 1992, including 3 years at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory) and has performed a broad variety of repertoire in concert, recordings and broadcasts, specialising somewhat in the presentation of rarely heard music.
Previous recordings solicited these comments from the critics:
"Sirodeau is an immensely persuasive interpreter.
Recommended." The Guardian
"Sirodeau evinces a fine ear for colour and rhythm – splashes of one, fragments of the other....." Musicweb International
