Description
Most of the music on this 2CD set was originally broadcast over CBS radio in 1940-42 during Glenn Miller's "Chesterfield Show" and are previously-unreleased broadcast versions of these particular songs, each in abbreviated form as part of the popular "something old, new, borrowed, and blue" medleys.
Even though Glenn Miller has been gone for more than half a century, his music remains popular to this day and this 2 CD set of 75 radio broadcasts stands as a significant document of Miller's music. Many are previously-unreleased broadcast versions of these particular songs, each in abbreviated form as part of the popular "something old, new, borrowed, and blue" medleys.
Miller himself is heard making some of the introductions and the live recordings here include several of Miller's biggest hits, such as "Perfidia", "Chattanooga Choo Choo", and "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" featuring his regular singers Marion Hutton, Ray Eberle and The Modernaires.
