The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra present a programme of the classic music of Miles Davis and Gil Evans, which Kenny Mathieson in the Scotsman described as "a triumph of imaginative programming and incisive playing." Under Tommy Smith's direction they perform all the music Evans arranged for the classic 1957 Miles Ahead session in the form of a continuous suite. The guest soloist, the Canadian jazz musician Ingrid Jensen is in outstanding form on trumpet and flugelhorn.
