  • Description

Alex Campbell: Guitar, Vocals & Piano | Alan Roberts: Guitar, Banjo, Dulcimer & Autoharp | Dougie MacLean: Guitar, Vocals, Fiddle & Baglama (Bakuz).

Alex Campbell was a Scottish folk singer. Described by the Irish non-fiction author and composer Colin Harper as a "melancholic, hard-travelling Glaswegian", Alex Campbell was influential in the British folk music revival of the 1950s and 1960s and was one of the first folk singers (in modern times) to tour the UK and Europe. His nickname was "Big Daddy", and he was known for his charisma, story-telling and singing.

Alan Roberts was a Scottish folk musician. He grew up in Callander, Perthshire before moving alone to London at the age of 16 to work for British Rail. At 18 he returned to Scotland to study sociology and psychology at Glasgow University. Alan then developed an interest in traditional music. He took up the guitar and banjo and immersed himself in Glasgow's vibrant folk music scene.

Dougie MacLean (OBE) is a Scottish singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. Described by AllMusic as "one of Scotland's premier singer-songwriters" MacLean has performed under both his own name, and as part of multiple folk bands, since the mid-1970s.
The 'CRM' album by Alex Campbell, Alan Roberts and Dougie MacLean was produced by Nigel Pegrum and engineered by Roy Neve. It was first released in 1979 on the Burlington label.
