Description
Double vinyl edition of Nosound's debut album for Kscope featuring reworked artwork.
Nosound recently released Afterthoughts, their fourth studio album. The album was described by Prog magazine as 'in a word, extraordinary' and is proving to be the band's most successful yet.
Now, as part of the Kscope 5th anniversary celebrations, Lightdark, their second album which was released on the label in 2008, is to be released as a deluxe 2 disc (CD+DVD) set and .
Lightdark was the band's breakthrough album. Featuring guest vocal's from No-man's Tim Bowness, it's success and helped establish the band as a firm fixture within the Kscope label. Recorded in Italy, England and the US throughout 2006 and 2007, the album develops further the promise of debut album Sol29 and exhibits a stronger group identity which reveals a greater contrast between atmospheric detail and the walls of sound created by the band on stage. Highlights include the 15 minute epic From Silence to Noise, the ethereal The Misplay (with cellist Marianne DeChastelaine), and the epic piano/mellotron driven ballad Someone Starts To Fade Away.
This double LP edition of the album is presented on 180gram heavyweight vinyl with a gatefold sleeve, and features bonus track Clouds which is only available on the DVD-AV 5.1 surround mix.

REMASTERED MID-PRICE CD EDITION OF NOSOUND'S BREAKTHROUGH SECOND ALBUM FEATURING A COLLABORATION WITH TIM BOWNESS (NO-MAN) & 4 BONUS TRACKS
"in a word, extraordinary" Prog (UK)
"they fascinate with their atmospheric concentration and complex structures" Classic Rock (DE)
"There really is no other way to describe Lightdark - other than exquisite" Progression (USA)
Started as a one-man studio project in 2005 by multi-instrumentalist Giancarlo Erra before evolving then into a full band, Nosound inventively combines influences from '70s psychedelia, '80s/'90s ambient, soundtracks, contemporary alternative and post-rock. The music is evocative and intense with personal songwriting and uses a variety of vintage and modern electronic instruments. Influences range from Pink Floyd to Brian Eno, from Radiohead to Sigur Ros, passing through rock and electronic music.
Following the release of the band's new minimal sound on their latest release, 'Allow Yourself', Giancarlo Erra is remastering and reissuing past albums on Kscope, now including the band's breakthrough second album 'Lightdark'. Recorded in Italy, England and the US throughout 2006 and 2007, 'Lightdark' developed the promise of debut album 'Sol29' and exhibited a stronger group identity, revealing a greater contrast between atmospheric detail and the walls of sound created by the band on stage.
Highlights include the 15-minute epic "From Silence to Noise", the ethereal "The Misplay" (with cellist Marianne DeChastelaine), and the epic piano/mellotron driven ballad "Someone Starts To Fade Away" (featuring guest vocals from No-Man's Tim Bowness).
This edition of 'Lightdark' is presented in digipack packaging complete with a 12-page booklet and has been newly remastered by Giancarlo Erra.
