MOPHING PEOPLE is an alternative rock unit formed in 2021 by Makoto Miyoshi (RUMANIA MONTEVIDEO) and Litsuko (ex-SHONEN KNIFE). Their music is characterized by a unique collision of roaring noise and infectious, catchy melodies--delivering a sound that is both ultra-noisy and ultra-pop. Infusing indie and shoegaze sensibilities with a distinctly Japanese melodic flair, they have carved out a truly one-of-a-kind presence.
Their 1st EP reached #1 on the iTunes Alternative Chart, and they quickly gained international acclaim, being featured in "Japan Is Loud," a compilation by Cartoon Network's "adult swim" (USA).
